Why do so many pro-life leaders support war?

Why do so many pro-life leaders support war?

by Don Hank

In an article titled “Corey Lewandowski set up by man-hating scammer,” Kelleigh Nelson portrays Michelle Fields as a feminist scammer posing as a conservative.

I also saw reports that Fields is a serial accuser of men but did not forward them, waiting instead for confirmation. I just now found confirmation of her accusation against Allen West here. It is hard to imagine that this woman is constantly being harassed by conservative men — especially when there are plenty of Democrat satyrs like Bill Clinton out there, with whom she must have come into contact plenty of times. It doesn’t smell right.

BTW, I am surprised that almost the entire pro-life community seems to have condemned Trump for saying that if abortion is declared to be a crime, then women who attempt abortions should be punished. Pro-lifers have always said that abortion is murder. A woman who tries to have an abortion would be an attempted murderer in that case, no question. Yet, the pro-life community has done what appears to be an about-face, as if they accept at face value the hype that feminists have been peddling for years.

After all, if women are to be treated as untouchables, then what if the abortion provider is a woman? Wouldn’t she have to be let off as well?

I suspect the whole issue is centered around the fact that Cruz, who glibly condemns Trump no matter what he says or does, has used the same tactics as GW Bush, portraying himself as God’s man.

If Bush was God’s man when he invaded Iraq, why were the Assyrian Christians forced to leave the country after we “won” the war there?

If he is not God’s man, then how can Evangelicals be so sure that Cruz, whose view on war is almost identical to that of Bush, is God’s man?

Has God really chosen a man to lead us to the promised land? Or is this another delusion — like so many many before it?

The Neocons said they wanted to use Christians to do their bidding. If they succeed again in deceiving Christiasn, how are non-Christians to take our faith seriously? Should we not be looking to our Savior instead of seeking an earthly Messiah?

Here is what I wrote about Neoconservatism:

Irving Kristol, dubbed the “godfather” of the (Neoconservative) movement, “has long argued for a much greater role for religion in the public sphere. (using naive Christians to do their dirty work — Don)

At the same time, he stressed that religion was for the masses alone; the rulers need not be bound by it. Indeed, it would be absurd if they were, since the truths proclaimed by religion were “a pious fraud.” [my highlighting] (any “Christian who allows himself to be led around by the nose by such ungodly people is disobeying God and committing a grievous sin!)

Jesus said be wise as serpents. That was a commandment, not a suggestion.

This commentary is not intended as an endorsement for any candidate. All of them are grievously flawed. However, there is a contrast in the area that I consider more important than all the rest, and that is, the flippant attitude of so many conservatives toward war, particularly with Russia and its allies (including China). The Neoconservatives have always shown an irrational and virtually racist hatred of Russia and many thoughtless Christians have bought into the now-debunked myth that God and Magog in Isaiah represented Russia (these place names were recently found in the Assyrian court records and were found in what is now Turkey).

Judging by the reckless statements of these people in the GOP campaign, many of them are more afraid of losing political power than they are of nuclear war. Americans have never seen war up close and personal, let alone nuclear war and are wholly unqualified to flirt with it – need I remind you, nuclear war could wipe out all of life or at least set civilization back 4000 years or so.

We ought to know that all the elements for such a war are in place and all we need is a warmongering Russian hating president to usher it in.

Cruz has said we should “push back Russia” in Syria. How can we reconcile this with the fact that the US was a co-creator of ISIS in the first place and has no political will to defeat ISIS? Or that Russian ally Assad is the only Middle Eastern leader who protects Christians? Russia is the only world power in Syria that does not have dirty hands and at the same time, is effectively combating ISIS. How can we therefore ignore our ignominious role in creating and even arming ISIS and pretend that we are morally superior to Russia? Cruz also calls Putin a dictator, hewing to the Neocon party line. Yet Putin is the duly elected president of Russia and enjoys a popularity rating that is the envy of the world.

If Christians, particularly those who are part of the pro-life movement, are seen as supporting a pro-war candidate who recklessly wants to push around another nuclear power, regardless of his pro-life statements, what does this do to their image, their credibility and their effectiveness in the pro-life movement?

I welcome comments both pro and con. This is the time for an honest objective debate on this issue.

I Can See the Next Holocaust From My House

Anthony Horvath is a contributor at Laigle’s Forum, Christian apologist, pro-life author and speaker, and publisher.  To learn more about his latest project aimed at combating the philosophies discussed in the essay below and how you can help, click here.

Tina Fey, impersonating Sarah Palin, joked, “I can see Russia from my house.”

I can see the next holocaust from my house, and it is no joke.

In the decades leading up to one of the most horrific chapters in human history, the leading lights of the day openly discussed bringing about those horrors.  Eugenics was posited as the rational position of all intelligent, well-meaning individuals.  In journals, newspapers, academic conferences, public health offices and elsewhere, they talked about sterilizing people with or without their consent, segregating them from society, or even exterminating them.  And that was in America.

In a book written in 1920 by two German experts and applauded by American experts, it was argued that it was allowable to destroy the ‘life unworthy of life.’

Who was regarded as ‘life unworthy of life’?  The handicapped, the disabled, the diseased, the mentally ill, the ‘feeble-minded.’  Really, just about anyone the experts decided was ‘unfit’ could be deemed ‘unworthy of life.’  When eugenics morphed into the Holocaust, many of its proponents quietly went to ground.  Some asked ‘What went wrong?’ but few arrived at the right answer.

Fast forward sixty years.  Enter Julian Savulescu.

You probably don’t know who Julian Savulescu is, just as your average American off the street in 1910 wouldn’t have known who Charles Davenport was.  You probably don’t know who Alberto Giubilini and Francesca Minerva are, just as your average American in 1920 wouldn’t have known who Alfred Hoche and Karl Binding were.

But you may recall a few months ago when two ‘ethicists’ quietly submitted an article in an ethics magazine arguing that the logic of abortion does not cease after the child has fully exited the birth canal.  For all the reasons that abortion on demand was justified, so too, the two ‘ethicists’ Giubilini and Minerva argued, was infanticide.  Of course, they preferred to call it ‘after-birth abortion.’

I hope that nobody misunderstands me:  Giubilini and Minerva were correct in their analysis.  If they are to be faulted for anything, it is for stopping at the newborn.

When people heard about this article there was outrage, and not a little of it spilled over onto the journal that printed the article in the first place.  That journal was “The Journal of Medical Ethics.”  Flabbergasted, the editor defended the publication of the article, saying:

“As Editor of the Journal, I would like to defend its publication. The arguments presented, in fact, are largely not new and have been presented repeatedly in the academic literature and public fora by the most eminent philosophers and bioethicists in the world, including Peter Singer, Michael Tooley and John Harris in defence of infanticide, which the authors call after-birth abortion.”

Yes, that is quite right.  The arguments presented were not new, and have been ‘presented repeatedly.’

He continued, “What is disturbing is not the arguments in this paper nor its publication in an ethics journal. It is the hostile, abusive, threatening responses that it has elicited. More than ever, proper academic discussion and freedom are under threat from fanatics opposed to the very values of a liberal society.”

This embattled editor of a renown journal of medical ethics is named Julian Savulescu. Continue reading

Book Review – We Chose Life: Why You Should Too, by Anthony Horvath

Book Review by Mary Ann Kreitzer

It’s a parent’s worst nightmare — hearing the words, “You have a very sick child.” For a dad, it’s particularly difficult because his job, besides providing materially for his family, is to protect his loved ones from harm. But when illness strikes a child, a dad often stands helpless to “fix it.” Decisions about dealing with a critical illness in an already born child are difficult enough, but when that illness occurs in utero, parents are faced with another issue. The question is inevitable – “Will you keep it?” Since Roe v. Wade made abortion-on-demand legal in all 50 states at any time during pregnancy, vulnerable families faced with a sick little one are often given the bad news and immediately invited to consider abortion. How will they respond to the challenge? Anthony Horvath, in his book “We Chose Life: Why You Should Too,” shares his story, his faith, and the reasons he believes others should “choose life” as he and his wife did. Those who find themselves in similar circumstances with a seriously ill unborn child would do well to put their panic on hold and read his story.

In December 2006, after two normal pregnancies that filled their home with three boys including a set of twins, the Horvath’s were thrilled to learn during a routine ultrasound that they were expecting a little girl. Then the shoe dropped. The ultrasound showed something else. “The doctor came in. She wasn’t smiling. Her expression was grim … she went right to the point. Our new baby girl had a lot of fluid in her skull, a condition called hydrocephalus. The doctor told us that it could be just hydrocephalus, or, worst case scenario, it could mean that she had spina bifida (SB)” [spina bifida is a general term for a group of a neural tube defects where a segment of the spinal column fails to close resulting in a buildup of fluid in the brain.]

A second ultrasound showed that the baby had the most severe form of the disease, myelomenigocele spina bifida. While there was no way to know the severity of the outcome, the baby could end up mentally and physically handicapped, catheterized, and permanently unable to walk – or not. “Here was the brutal reality,” Horvath says, “There was no way of knowing the future.”

Christians Are Not to be Malthusians

This is an excerpt of an article that Laigle’s Forum staff writer, Anthony Horvath, had published at Worldnetdaily.com last week.

Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Thomas Robert Malthus would have disagreed. The philosophical forerunner to Darwin, Malthus argued that there are limited resources, and competition for them is intense.  When there are too many people competing for those resources, you have war, famine and a continual threat to civilization itself.

For Malthus, the pie is only so big: We must reduce the number of people who want a share of it.

Christianity embodies another solution: Make a bigger pie.

In Christianity, God takes a few loaves and feeds thousands with them.  Entrance to heaven is not contingent on space available. Jesus came that we would have life, and life to the fullest. Not just for some, but all.

None of what follows is an argument for Christian indifference to the plight of other people. However, Christians should not advocate “solutions” that repress human liberty, dignity and freedom. For some reason, all of the Malthusian’s solutions do just that.

Prominent feminist: A McCain presidency would threaten abortion “rights”

Prominent feminist urges abortion advocates to vote for Obama

by Laurie Higgins

In an op-ed piece appearing in the Wall Street Journal on Oct. 21, University of Michigan feminist law professor, Catherine MacKinnon, provides pro-lifers multiple compelling reasons to vote for John McCain: judges, judges, judges.

Concerned that women’s “legal” and “social” equality will be threatened by the election of John McCain, MacKinnon warns that “At stake in this presidential election are the federal courts. . . . The next president will appoint scores of lower court federal judges who will have the last word in most cases. One, perhaps three, justices may be named to a Supreme Court that in recent years has decided many cases of importance to women by just one vote.”

If for no other reason, the next president’s opportunity to appoint scores of lower court judges and perhaps three or more Supreme Court justices should provide more than sufficient justification for voting for McCain. Continue reading

Does pro-life have to mean anti-sovereignty?

Does pro-life mean anti-sovereignty?

by Donald Hank

A while back pro-lifers started reminding us that the babies that were aborted since Wade/Roe would have been productive American workers and that there were some 40 million of them. They said that this shortfall had to be made up by immigrants and strongly suggested that God had therefore allowed the current situation of millions of illegals from Mexico. They sound almost gleeful as they announce this.

So illegal immigration and all the associated ills like increased crime, drug abuse and extra money spent on social services is a visitation of God’s wrath on America for the sin of abortion?

That’s the old liberal guilt by association theory. But a closer look shows that it wasn’t God who intervened to punish us but rather the neocons under George Bush-the same ones who teamed up with the Democrats to punish us via our financial markets. And it is not the Christian God who started and perpetuated this myth but rather some corrupt left-leaning church leaders, including many evangelicals, who use this argument to defang opponents who have legitimate concerns about the invasion from Mexico.

A while back I got in trouble with some of the anti-sovereigns in the pro-life movement when I ran my article exposing pro-lifer Mike Huckabee’s choice of Richard Haass as his proposed secretary of state. Haass is the President of the Council on Foreign Relations, which in itself is a huge red flag, but worse, had recently written a paper saying that we need to “rethink” the idea of sovereignty (meaning it is no longer needed in our post-modern world). I had also shown elsewhere how prominent church leaders like Dr. Richard Land, of the Southern Baptist Convention, had criticized “nationalism,” and had shown that criticizing nationalism is just a sneaky way to undermine sovereignty. (If you understand that Land also endorses Al Gore’s ideas, it is not hard to imagine where he is situated on the political spectrum.) This criticism of nationalism is found throughout the denominations in America, which are coming under increasing centralized control and becoming little more than an arm of the Left, which is the main reason why you will almost never hear a “conservative” or “evangelical” leader or pastor speaking out against lawless immigration practices or sanctuary cities.

Now that McCain has chosen Sarah Palin as his vice-presidential running mate, he has become increasingly vocal about his pro-illegal immigration views, apparently believing he is invincible. An ad his campaign recently ran in Spanish (endorsed by McCain himself) absurdly “blames” the Obama camp for blocking immigration “reform,” which smart people know is code for amnesty. Frankly, folks, if conservatives knew the Obama camp were opposed to amnesty, I am sure some would consider voting for Obama, and I wouldn’t blame them, although I am not so sure it was the Democrats who torpedoed the amnesty bill. If I recall correctly, a lot of us, myself included, lobbied so hard against that bill (supported by McCain and Bush, for example) that the congressional phone lines went down.

But McCain must take us all for a bunch of bumpkins if he thinks there aren’t any conservatives who understand Spanish and can find out what he is up to.

Michelle Malkin recently slammed McCain hard on the border-amnesty issue. And there are good blogs that show how shameless officials and their immigration policies are causing unnecessary killings, rapes and other hardships on Americans. CNN’s Lou Dobbs does an outstanding job reporting on illegal immigration, and I recommend you tune out of Fox News and into CNN for as long as his show lasts.

But Malkin and Dobbs are almost alone these days. You won’t hear much meaningful talk on illegal immigration on talk radio or Fox News these days. Sean Hannity is still blathering about the evils of the Democrats as if the Republican leadership were back in the hands of Ron Reagan, but in his interviews with McCain and Palin (where does she stand?), never mentions illegal immigration, as if the issue has gone away.

But we are far from that these days, and short of an act of God, we are in for 4 very very rocky years, no matter who is elected.

Oh, and if you believe pro-life automatically means anti-sovereignty, I have a bridge I can sell you.

Three Members of Obama’s Church Killed

Investigator close to case believes there’s more to the brutal murders than mainstream press is letting on.

By Victor Thorn

Is a Barack Obama bombshell lurking in the shadows, waiting to derail one of the biggest Cinderella stories in recent history?

While most political prognosticators in the mainstream press presume that Obama is the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, they still wonder aloud if Hillary Clinton (or some other entity) has something up their sleeve.

The bombshell may involve the murder of Donald Young, a 47-year-old choir master at former Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s Trinity United Church of Christ-the same congregation that Obama has attended for the past 20 years. Two other young black men that attended the same church-Larry Bland and Nate Spencer-were also murdered execution style with bullets to the backs of their heads-all within 40 days of each other, beginning in November 2007. All three were openly homosexual.

What links this story to Barack Obama is that, according to an acquaintance of Obama, Larry Sinclair, Obama is a closet bisexual with whom he had sexual and drug-related encounters in November 1999.

Pro-Life Prayer & Picket Demo Against NEA Pro-Abortion Agenda

at the NEA’s own Convention & State Capital HQs

Washington Convention Center * Wednesday July 2 10AM-2PM

801 Mount Vernon Place, NW • Washington, DC 20001 (Rain or Shine)

Dear Pro-Life & Pro-Family Organizations, Leaders, Activists in DC, VA, MD & DE,

You are invited and exhorted to please help stage a massive, peaceful, highly visible, pro-life prayer-&-picket demonstration against the National Education Association leadership’s egregious pro-abortion agenda. I urge you to become stake-holders in this endeavor. Please commit yourselves and your organizations to adopting a pro-active leadership role in making this pro-life action effective and successful.

Press Release Link:

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama: One or both will surely speak at NEA Convention 2008 (as they did at the Philadelphia NEA Convention 2007); especially whichever one becomes the Democratic nominee. NEA-PAC may vote on and announce the union’s 2008 Presidential Endorsement at this convention. Please recall that late-term abortionist George Tiller addressed the pro-abortion Feminist Majority Foundation’s Women’s Leadership Conference held at NEA’s Washington, DC headquarters in March 2008.

This document has been sent to at least fifty pro-life & pro-family organizations with headquarters or operations in the greater DC area. Surely, such a coalition task force can mobilize a minimum of one thousand people for a few hours to picket the NEA Convention (and fifty+ people at each state capital’s NEA HQ). We cannot wait for “somebody else” to do this. In your hearts, you know that this is a good and Godly idea – and that you really do want to be a part of it. It is up to you/me/us to combine our forces, resources, and talents and get it done. Besides – it will be fun to do! Imagine smacking the NEA! Hard! Many of your organizations’ members would love the chance to smite the NEA leadership – on their own turf no less! This has got to be a Team Effort. Please be one of the Team Leaders.

Over 9,000 Delegates from all fifty states and US territories will meet at the Washington Convention Center, July 1-6, to set policy for 3.2 million NEA members. Celebrities & politicians address the convention. Fortune 500 companies set up exhibit booths. Approximately 3,000 visitors also attend the convention.

This is a unique opportunity for the Pro-Life Movement to make millions of American citizens and school employees keenly aware of the NEA leadership’s radical agenda by generating a tidal wave of news coverage through both secular and Christian media outlets such as FOX, CBN, ABC, USARadio, NBC, SRN, CBS, BOTT, CNN, TV & cable, newspaper and magazine front pages, internet sites, the blogosphere and more.

Nationwide press coverage of a dynamic, well-attended, pro-life demonstration is virtually guaranteed. Hundreds (yes, hundreds!) of reporters from international, national, regional, and local news media outlets always attend and cover NEA’s annual meeting. NEA prides itself on being the organization which does the picketing; not being the target of picketing. This prayer and picket demo can be one of the most significant pro-life news events of 2008 across the USA and worldwide.

This cooperative event has the potential to synergistically re-energize pro-lifers all across America as we stage an effective, united, nationwide, pro-life “happening”. It will imbue in all participants a great sense of accomplishment and feeling of satisfaction to give the NEA leadership a well-deserved, highly publicized thrashing. We will also hearten and embolden the handful of Pro-Life NEA Delegates inside the Convention!

If you or your organizations host radio or TV programs, print publications, or web sites, please promote this event via your broadcasts and columns. If you have access to media personalities such as Dobson, Rush, Hannity, Ingraham, Beck, Parshall, Levin, Schlafly, O’Reilly, et al, please tell them about this event and your group’s participation. Encourage them to inform their audiences about the event and NEA’s agenda. If possible, get yourselves booked as guests on their shows so that you can personally promote the prayer-&-picket demos.

Therefore: Please recruit as many pro-life people as you can muster to picket against the NEA leadership’s pro-abortion policies & activism. Imagine the impact of 1,000+ picketers from all walks of life taking the NEA to task: men & women, taxpayers, parents, children, babies, and clergy – in addition to school employees, teachers (especially NEA members), and students (public, private, parochial, home school, etc). Invite pro-life elected officials with whom you have influence.

The peaceful, non-confrontational prayer-&-picket pro-life demonstration is scheduled for Wednesday, July 2, 10AM-2PM (Rain or Shine) as the 9000 Delegates arrive to register at the Convention Center.

Pro-Lifers more than 90 minutes from Washington, DC: You can still participate! Please picket the NEA affiliate HQ in your state’s capital at least one time during NEA Convention week. Pick dates & times which work for you, although my suggested date is Wednesday, July 2, 11:00AM-1:00PM (lunch hour) in your local time zone for maximum impact & media boost. Send press releases to your local media tying in your state demos with the NEA Convention demo. Click this link for addresses of NEA State Affiliate HQs.

PLEAS will transmit a general press release* by June 26 via Christiannewswire.com and other outlets. All pro-life organizations, ministries, and churches supporting the demonstrations are encouraged to send out their own independent press statements June 27-30. A “flood” of press releases will enhance and reinforce media coverage of the event and impact upon the public’s consciousness.

(* If your organization would like to be listed as a participating group in the PLEAS press release, please advise me by June 23.)

Do NOT assume that other pro-life leaders, organizations, or activists already know about this opportunity. Inform them yourself. Forward this e-mail to them. Send out your own notification to any & all pro-life groups and individuals in your circle of contacts. Please send this plan to your entire e-mail list.

If YOU are committed to making this pro-life event a success, please contact me at once. Thank you.

Additional Data, Maps, Suggestions, Rules of Conduct, etc:

NEA Resolution on Family Planning (currently listed as Res. I-15) was adopted in 1985, amended in 1986, and is reaffirmed annually at every NEA Convention:

“The National Education Association supports family planning, including the right to reproductive freedom.

The Association urges the government to give high priority to making available all methods of family planning to women and men unable to take advantage of private facilities.

The Association further urges the implementation of community-operated, school-based family planning clinics that will provide intensive counseling by trained personnel.”

In 1990, the NEA delegates easily passed New Business Item 1990-65.

“NEA will oppose any legislation which will erode the status of Roe v. Wade and/or which impedes access to and choice of reproductive health care options, by providing technical assistance to state affiliates.”

The NEA leadership is one of Planned Parenthood’s primary advocates. The NEA leadership co-sponsored the pro-abortion rally in Washington, DC in November 1989, April 1992, and April 2004. Other sponsors were: PPFA, ACLU, NOW, NARAL. Late term abortionist George Tiller spoke at NEA HQ in March 2008.

You can find out more about the NEA leadership’s radical agenda on many issues (abortion, homosexuality, sex education, home schooling, illegal immigration, etc) by going to the NEA homepage at www.nea.org/index.html or a searchable PDF file at http://www.nea.org/handbook/images/resolutions.pdf.

OK to bring standard pro-life signs (Abortion Kills Children, Stop Abortion Now, Abortion Hurts Women, etc)

However, if you are motivated to create new signs, some ideas are below:

Please ~ All signs should be easy to read, BIG, DARK print – to be seen best by millions

of people looking at TV newscasts, newspaper & magazine photos, web sites, blogs, etc.

Media coverage will go National & International front page & top-story for several reasons:

1) The NEA is rarely targeted for any sort of public demonstrations. A massive picket against NEA is newsworthy in and of itself!

NEA takes pride in being the group which DOES the picketing! NEA is never the target OF picketing!

2) The idea of the NEA being picketed by a broad coalition of Parents/Taxpayers; Children/Students; School Employees

& Teachers (including NEA members) will be hard for media organizations to pass up. They’d get scooped by competitors.

3) The media will not be able to ignore such an event – partly because the media ATTENDS the NEA convention.

Pro-Life NEA members can actually go into the NEA Convention and REGISTER to attend. There is no fee for NEA members; just show your NEA-affiliate ID card at the Registration Booth to obtain your Badge/Name-Tag “credentials”. [Note: Be sure to wear your credentials while picketing outside.] Do NOT picket inside – although it is OK to wear pro-life t-shirts & buttons inside. Visit the pro-life exhibit booths of “Teachers Saving Children” and “NEA Educators for Life Caucus”. Take a walk through the exhibit area July 1-3 to see for yourselves some of the radical organizations and causes on display. Bring your cameras! Pick up some of the free, high-quality gifts and goodies from the hundreds of exhibit booths. You may also register guests at (low cost or possibly no cost — esp for guests under age 18).

Dear Face the Truth,

This is Katie Ostrom, and I am a pro-life activist.  I am sending this
urgent information to all pro-life people and groups I know, and I hope
you can send this to all local chapters of your organization>

There will be a national protest of the pro-abortion National Education
Association (NEA) that will occur at their convention this week,
starting Sunday July 1, at the Philadelphia Convention Center in

This is a VERY important event; hundreds of news media representatives
attend the NEA convention and the more pro-life protesters that
participate in this, the better chance the pro-life side could get some
news coverage.

Lifenews, an excellent on-line source, has already written an article
about this great pro-life event.   Maybe someone at Face the Truth
could also investigate and write an article about this, send through a
newsletter, or post something about this event on your website?

* Even if you or people from your group cannot attend this event in PA,
please read further *

(Pro-lifers in states nowhere near PA can protest the NEA at their
headquarters in each state)

The NEA has 3.2 million members in the USA, and hardly any of them know
that their beloved union is pro-abortion and votes to maintain their
pro-abortion policies at the annual convention.  Teachers should not
support abortion!>

=> The NEA adopted its pro-abortion Resolution I-13 on Family
Planning in 1985, amended it in 1986, and reaffirms it at the
convention each year:

“The NEA supports family planning, including the right to reproductive
freedom. The Association urges the government to give high priority to
making family planning available to women and men unable to take
advantage of private facilities. The Association further urges the use
of community-operated, school-based family planning clinics that will
provide intensive counseling by trained personnel.”

=> In 1990, the NEA delegates easily passed New Business Item 1990-65:

“The NEA will oppose any legislation which will erode the status of Roe
v. Wade and/or which impedes access to and choice of reproductive
health care options, by providing technical assistance to state

PLEASE, for the sake of the future of our society, I urge you to
contact Bob Pawson, the coordinator of this protest, and write your own
article encouraging pro-lifers, especially educators, across America to
participate in this pro-life opportunity, or at least spread awareness
of the NEA’s pro-abortion stance.

Until the public becomes aware, and forces the NEA to reverse their
pro-abortion policies or become abortion neutral, the NEA will continue
to give Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry a platform in
American public schools and universities.

Did you hear about the school field trip to Planned Parenthood that
happened in New Hampshire the other week?  They took 40 middle
schoolers to Planned Parenthood, without permission of any parents.
Also, I have heard they are handing out condoms in some middle schools
(instead of just high schools which is bad enough) and teaching
contraception-only sex education classes, without any mention of
abstinence.  Yuck!

PLEASE, write your own article about this event and send information
about the NEA protest to all pro-life groups and individuals that you

Will you help make this pro-life event highly visible?

Please do everything you can to raise awareness of the pro-abortion NEA
policies during the rest of the year, even if you cannot promote the
protest at the NEA convention. Planned Parenthood has NO BUSINESS in
America’s schools!

Thank you for all you do to serve human life!

ii) Pro-Life Teachers to Protest NEA Meeting Over Abortion

Philadelphia, PA (LifeNews.com) – Pro-life advocates including
teachers, school officials and other educators will protest the
national conference of the National Education Association. They say
that the union group should not be spending time or money promoting
abortion or pro-abortion candidates who back a procedure that kills

Bob Pawson, who heads up Pro-Life Educators And Students is helping to
coordinate the protest and he spoke with LifeNews.com about it.

“It is vital to focus nationwide attention on the pro-abortion activism
of this powerful union’s leaders,” he said, saying the NEA is supposed
to be “dedicated to protecting children, as well as teachers’ jobs.”

Pawson is a member of the NEA and its New Jersey affiliate and teaches
computer classes in the Trenton Public Schools.

He said the NEA doesn’t realize the loss of life resulting from the
more than 1.2 million abortions annually. That’s fewer classrooms of
children and few opportunities for teaching positions.

“Twenty-five abortions equal one lost classroom, one lost teaching
career, and a catastrophic loss to America’s future,” he said.

NEA officials did not respond to a request for comment from LifeNews.com.

The protests will begin on Sunday at the NEA conference in Philadelphia
at the Pennsylvania Convention Center and other pro-life advocates will
hold rallies at state capitols across the country to draw attention to
the NEA state affiliates.

About 10,000 teachers and delegates from all fifty states will attend
the NEA Convention.

Ironically, a recent vote by the Philadelphia city council to
officially endorse abortion has prompted dozens of local pro-life
advocates to assist in the protests.

“Although Council rescinded the label six days later, the original
decision irritated, motivated, and activated many Philadelphia
pro-lifers determined to refute and rebuke that obnoxious resolution,”
said Pawson.

Other pro-life organizations are assisting Pawson’s group in the
effort, including League of American Families and the Life Education
And Resources Network.

“We are taking to task the leadership of America’s largest and most
socio-politically meddlesome union, for essentially misrepresenting
many teachers on the abortion issue,” Pawson concluded.

“We teachers and school employees love children. It’s insane for our
union’s leadership to condone, much less promote, the killing of babies
in their mothers’ wombs,” he said.
