But you’re wrong: idiocy doesn’t have any limits: MSNBC was bawling today that the blizzard that covered the entire country is a proof of the global warming.

Thanks for the input, Constantine. I rely on the internet for most info precisely because of the galling distortions and biased tripe issued as news by the mainstream media. I fixed the second paragraph. What is troubling is that some conservatives are buying into this cock-and-bull story that global warming can be either hot or cold. Sort of like folk medicine in Third World countries, where certain foods are considered cold even when they are served hot. I am beginning to think Lincoln was wrong. You can fool most of the people most of the time!

Your post is ridiculous [I edited out the meanness]. I really can’t believe you’re endorsing the fallacy that occasional snow or cold weather in a certain area somehow means the *overall* temperature of Earth has not been increasing; that’s as nonsensical [the original word was no acceptable] as saying occasional rain in the Sahara means the place is no longer a desert.

What you mean, I suppose, is that my post WOULD have been ridiculous IF I had said that occasional snow or cold weather in a certain region means the overall temperature of the earth has not been increasing. This gentleman obviously only read a few lines or maybe just the title and then went unhinged. I did NOT say that. I do want to remind the reader that the unseasonable cold and snow covered most of the northern US and Europe, however.
My thrust is more on the way the press ignores and suppresses data.
But, because of feedback from some readers, I wrote a sequel to this article to answer some of your concerns, and that is the latest article at Laigle’s. Please check it out in a few days (scheduled to run on Monday and based on this article):

If your “thrust” was on the way “the press ignores and suppresses data,” then why isn’t there anything in your post about the alleged data that the press ignores? Or perhaps you consider those Bible references part of that data, along with the swipes at liberals, evolution, commie Al Gore, and anti-Christian scientists (it doesn’t matter what their personal beliefs actually are, so long as they think global warming is happening, those scientists *can’t* be Christian according to you)?

The fact is, the “thrust” of your post was nothing more than an unintelligent rant, drawing fallacious connections between our recent weather and a phenomenon whose existence has long been established by the scientific community.

Why isn’t there any data on the suppression of data? Sorry, Mark, my readers already are up to speed and I can’t publish a recap of all earlier writings on this. I am like a teacher in April who has a whole lot of students who have done their homework since September but one of the kids just moved in from a ghetto school. I can’t hold back the whole class, but you can check out the link at the end of this comment for starters.
I am making an exception in your case. I normally wouldn’t allow the term “unintelligent rant” ref to an article at Laigle’s, but since this is my own article, I will allow it to show how the Left argues. In debate after debate at different forums, I have just allowed leftists to pretty much say what they want and sat back and then pointed out to the audience how unhinged the Left gets when it comes up against the kind of ideas that have been practically banned in print and on campus. For example, I start by forwarding the premise that the Left are a bunch of bullies. These brilliant folks then oblige me by saying all sorts of bullying things and when they are done, I thank them for proving my point.
They never learn.
Oh, I don’t mean they’re stupid. It’s just that they are so brainwashed they don’t show any signs of independent intellectual activity, so no one can tell if they are smart or not. Their trainers are plenty smart, though.
I need to confess something here: back when I was an atheist, I did the same thing, and no one ever called me on it. They were scared of me. What I desperately needed was a person who was my intellectual peer or better to take me down a peg, but no one did me that favor. I have to live that down, and helping you pull yourself out of the mud might help make up for past sins.
It took me years to overcome the faulty thinking that made me that way, and I have no fear of anyone like Mark because I know that he too can get beyond this with the right breaks.
So, witness Exhibit 1: when the Left finds that a dissenter won’t back down and isn’t afraid, they lash out, immediately becoming coarse and rude and throwing logic to the winds. In other words, while accusing Christians and conservatives of being stupid, they show a lack of brain power themselves. Now, before you get all hopping mad, Mark, I am not saying you are stupid. I am too smart for that. What I am saying is that as a leftist, you have had the media, the education and university system, the ACLU and other such orgs, an increasing no. of politicians and judges, in other words, the world elite, running interference for you since at least the 60s.
You never had to think for yourself. As long as you followed the Marxist playbook, you could shut people up just by saying “shut up, stupid,” or pretending to be a victim (black, Hispanic, homosexual, Muslim, etc) , and that always ended the debate.
Now, Mark, perhaps for the first time in your life, you are not in that ambiance. This is not a campus, not a leftist forum, not a comfortable leftist meeting place in a big city, and you can’t make your opponent keep both hands tied behind his back. We are on a level playing field. I wonder if you understand that.
And that’s why you are throwing a tantrum. And the more foul and careless language you throw around, the deeper you sink in the mire.
My worldview is NOT necessarily that man cannot destroy his world. However, as a Christian, I truly believe that God makes weather. That’s what sets you off, of course, because the ACLU has taught, by bullying in court, that Christians aren’t aloud to express religious thought in public. Muslims may say whatever they want. Christians have to shut up and sit in the corner.
What you would never admit is that the global warming hysteria is all about the International Left grabbing power and forcing the “rich” countries to pay the poor ones for supposedly messing up their atmosphere.
My readers are aware of the hoax that is being perpetrated here. They know, specifically, about the hacked emails from the University of East Anglia. I am fairly confident that you haven’t a clue about that, and are in WAY over your head, which is what all the screaming is all about.
In response to your shrieking, I presented in a comment further up, a link to an article by David Parker that appeared in Nature in Nov 2004. Since I doubt you will read it, let me quote Parker, who specializes in climatic trends:
“The Arctic was warmer in the 1930s than it is today, and somehow, mysteriously and magically, neither the polar bears nor the Inuit became extinct. Nor did we go over any mythical ‘tipping point’.”
Parker analyzes the data of a researcher and provides graphs showing the higher temps in the 30s.
Why didn’t you know about that?
Because you aren’t supposed to. You think you are free, Mark. You are a slave to the elite masters. They have you eating out of their hand.
But a couple of crumbs is all you’ll ever get from them.

Your last post contributed nothing to the dialogue because all you know how to do is repeat: “you ignore the facts because of your beliefs.”
I can give you all the space you want to add new material but when you start repeating yourself, then you are putting me and my readers to sleep.
Your problem is you you read too little of my stuff and I read too much of yours. I take your words seriously but you despise me because I am a Christian.
I can’t put my life on hold any more to continue this exercise in futility. If I had time and thought there was any point in it I would go a few more rounds with you. But there is a real world and a real life to deal with and I now understand that you have an agenda not to learn but to change, change for its own sake. Of course, I have an agenda too. But my agenda is to build. Yours is to tear down in the blind belief that the grandmasters of the Left will find a way to build a better world out of the rubble you leave behind.
That’s it in a nutshell.
I know your masters, perhaps better than you because I have studied them: Gramsci, Alinskey, the Frankfurt School, the Fabians, Lukacs, etc etc. You have mastered their methodology but never bothered to ask why. You are ok with a disordered world because you think there is a golden utopia awaiting mankind, when superior beings like you will lord it over all the rest. You may indeed come close. But a surprise ending awaits this world.
You have demonstrated that man has a free will. I respect your freedom to believe whatever you want and to ignore everything I wrote. Let’s just leave it at that. Peace!
