Glenn Beck and how Americans got the way we are

Glenn Beck and how Americans got this way

By Don Hank

Recently, a lot has been written about Glenn Beck and his refusal to look at the eligibility issue and his disdain for those of us who care about it.

First, let me be clear: I am a birther. By that I don’t mean that I am claiming Obama was definitely born in Kenya (where they have erected a monument at the place where he was born). I mean that I don’t know if Obama is a natural born citizen because he has never proven it. Therefore Beck is remiss to dismiss birthers’ concerns. We have a constitutional right to know, and judges who say otherwise are derelict in their duties and don’t deserve to be called judges any more than those judges who in 1973 decided that humans in the womb aren’t humans.

Ironically, though, despite Beck’s vexing unwillingness to admit what an increasing number of Americans know or sense about Obama’s eligibility to be president, no one has taught to the broad masses the sources of Marxist brainwashing – how we got to where we are – better than Glenn Beck. Others have written books that changed the way scholarly conservatives think, but Beck popularized this knowledge in ways that made scholars of ordinary people. He went into detail on the origins of “progressivism” and that is important. Without a comprehensive knowledge of how millions of ordinary decent Americans have been turned into glassy-eyed liberals, we are easy prey both to the propaganda itself and to those who accuse us watchdogs of McCarthyism.

Even if you are put off by Glenn’s histrionics, his shows have been a classroom for a long time – especially his TV show, where he has reviewed important eye-opening books night after night. He did his homework. If Patriots view Beck with a jaundiced eye today it is partly because he fails to see the importance of the eligibility issue but also in part because they have underestimated the role of propagandists in turning America leftward and they fail to see how much Beck has pulled back the curtain for millions of us, providing us a glimpse into the sordid world of Marxist disinformation in which we find ourselves.

Further, without Beck, there would not have been the Washington tea party. Like him or hate him, Beck has changed the nation.

This is as good an opportunity as any for a quick review of how we got where we are today, and we can start with a video of an interview with ex-KGB agent Yuri Bezmenov, who shows how Americans were brainwashed through KGB methods such as demoralization and manipulation of and by the media. One thing that sticks in my mind from Yuri’s talks is that people brainwashed by these methods refuse to believe the truth and are essentially dead to the truth. “These people cannot be changed by logic. The change is complete and irreversible,” as Yuri puts it.

Remember the last time you tried to debate with a “liberal” zombie? The change that zombie underwent at some time in his life was complete and irreversible, wasn’t it? Facts are irrelevant.

Only a nucleus of people who read history, keep up with talk radio and web sites like Laigle’s Forum have even a pinch of understanding of what is going on around us and why. The average American will look you in the eye and tell you with a straight face that our “liberalization” is a result of a natural evolution process. We just keep getting smarter and more sensitive to the needs of others. Praise be to Darwin!

The Soviet propaganda source laid bare in the above-linked video is only one of many. Our education system, as Yuri mentions, has undermined us almost to the point of no return. But the influence came not only from Soviet operatives. Another powerful agency was the Frankfurt School, a group of German Marxists who came to America to escape Hitler and showed their gratitude by teaching their host country to hate its founders, its traditions and its culture. Herbert Marcuse, a famous 60s radical and member of our pseudo-intelligentsia, was a scion of that group. Still another group was the more-or-less home-grown communist agents like Saul Alinsky and Cloward and Piven, who taught other leftists how to manipulate us. Then there were our early educational theorists like John Dewey and his myriad clones. Reaching way back, there were psychologists like Freud and Pavlov, and later the “sexologists” Masters and Johnson who taught that sexual promiscuity is our reason for living. Then there was Dr. Spock who taught us how to spoil kids, and Timothy Leary, who taught spoiled kids how to do drugs. Radical feminists like Andrea Dworkin, pushed for welfare and abortion and aided in breaking up families by redefining “abuse” of women, making it include things as prosaic as “giving your wife the silent treatment,” and hypocritically warned of child abuse while endorsing pedophilia. Thanks to their efforts, the institution of “no-fault divorce” was born, which converted the marriage contract into a worthless piece of paper for millions of husbands, who were often rendered penniless in “family” court in the headlong national effort to “protect women and children.” Similar agents of change were pedophiles like NAMBLA founder Allen Ginsberg, and homosexual activists who introduced and pushed for “gay” marriage to further undermine what was left of the American family. The Liberation Theologists made minorities feel oppressed and helpless and urged them to “strike back” at whites, their “oppressors,” rather than raise themselves out of poverty and ignorance through hard work and study, the only way to raise oneself out of poverty and ignorance. The net effect of these hate mongering racists, working in tandem with the educational left, was to create walls of ignorance, prejudice and hatred that will take decades to tear down. Likewise, the developers of the Delphi method, whether wittingly or unwittingly, made a significant contribution to mind control, manipulating participants to accept ideas – even dangerous ones – by “mainstreaming” them. Finally, as David Kupelian reminds us, Madison Avenue advertisers have contributed mightily to plunging us into a bottomless moral abyss where good is evil and vice-versa. (I’m sure you can think of many more such contributors to the brainwashing of America).

If you look at the sleaze surrounding Obama in his college days you get an idea of who many of the other movers and shakers were in the movement to destroy traditional America and replace it with Marxist utopian ideals.

We find that almost all of the ideas promulgated by these “agents of change” are now chillingly mainstream or close to it. Likewise you will find very few liberals who care that the White House resident has communists among his czars or his past mentors. In the ghetto, you’ll find almost no one who objects.

The Dems have them firmly in place down on their plantation.

So where does this leave Glenn Beck?

If I had Glenn Beck in front of me I would say:

You have focused bravely on monumental issues and I admire you for it. In the final analysis, every single one of these issues – from socialist health care to welfare for rich bankers – stems from the unwillingness of American politicians and judges to honor the Constitution. But the Constitution also has rules governing who can be president and who can’t.

I am therefore asking you to focus fairly on the eligibility issue. Give it its just due and please respect truth seekers whose quest has taken them down other trails than yours. They are your potential allies and you can win them back with a little extra effort.

  1. Don, You are much too kind to Beck. Beck is a former stand-up comedian, an act (I know a little bit about variety acts). I’ve heard he’s a Mormon, not that I care. He could be a trapist monk for all I care! I’ve also heard he’s a Libertarian. I know he’s a recovering alcoholic. The man’s personal life DOES matter, how he treats his wife and kids, his neighbors, etc. He’s certainly a very rich man and I suppose deservedly so. But

    1) He’s not funny yet he THINKS he’s funny.
    2) He brought up illegal immigration/the Border like it was “something new” to his viewers.
    3) I’ve seen him on his radio show “lose it” taking a Birther caller…I believe the most telling scene was at one time on youtube from his November 8, 2008 show right after the Election. He went ballistic over this quiet, somewhat timid caller who held his ground. Beck called him every name under the sun that he could on radio. If you saw that show on youtube as I did, you would never watch or listen to Glenn Beck again.

I take issue with you about the importance you place with his 9/12 group and the D.C. March. That march would more than likely have happened without the 9/12 group. But maybe I’m wrong here. There were a lot of disparate groups–Campaign for Liberty and the Oath-Keepers, two Libertarian groups and there was the JBS, right? There were the RINO Dick Armey folks from freedomworks…There were PUMAS (Hillaryites), too. Perhaps the 9/12ers had the biggest portion of the March folks. I wasn’t there.

  2. Hello Dave,
I have never heard that Beck is a trapist monk, so we agree on that one.
I am sure the Washington march would have taken place without Beck’s promoting it. There may have been as many as 10,000.
    America needs this wisdom now:
Lord give me the strength to do what I can, the patience to accept what I can’t and the wisdom to tell the difference.

  3. OOPS!! I am remiss in not having mentioned Resistnet’s involvement in the March on D.C. Over 40,000 members and I don’t know how many Resistnetters showed up but it is a very powerful grass roots conservative (mostly Republican, I believe) group, an offshoot of Grassfire. I’ve interviewed Darla Dawald on my show.

Then there’s Dale Robertson’s group out of Texas at teapatry.org. I’m going to try to interview him. I no idea how many in his group are 9/12ers.

  4. After watching his interview on C-span the day after the March, it appears that Dale Robertson is a Libertarian…

  5. This was a very good article, however the one thing missing from your speculation is that Glenn cannot talk about eligibility or he will lose his platform, he will lose his job like Lou Dobbs lost his. So it does not even matter what he thinks in his heart, if he will not speak it. Glenn is not willing to make that sacrifice. He has rationalized that he can still do a lot of good on the leash he has been given. We all make choices like this in life, his just happens to be more public than most. I don’t listen to Glenn anymore because I am way ahead of him now. He really helped me to learn and understand a lot of things and I am grateful for that. But I have moved on. I am glad Glenn is there for others like me who just need enough true information to break the chains of the propaganda masters on their lives. I’m not interested in beating him over the head. I take what I can to help me and move on.

  6. This column outlining how we got where we are, will be highly attacked by those, like “Dave” who read material only to find a hook to hang a diatribe on. Their purpose is to divert people from the real meaning of the commentary. They are unique in that they use all material for a springboard to rant, rather than to assess the real meaning of anything at all.

On the 9/12 group, I don’t recall that the original idea was to be a special single group representation called the 9/12 project. It was to rally people to use the idea to rally people they knew to join together to find their real common bonds as Americans, based on our founding documents and history and shared traditions, etc.

The saddest part of Dave’s comments is the part shared by still too many Americans. They will put all effort into picking entirely apart the efforts of anyone who works to GROW in their ability to make people think — to use their own growth to polish their efforts to inspire others to then do their own growing and polish their own thinking. Then more people are encouraged to help share information. The purpose is not to worship the providers of the information.

The opposition too often works to discredit the person, not the information. By limiting their assessments to discrediting the person, they only help to advance the one-person-as-savior idea that inevitably brings about the success of one-person-as-dictator.

Wisdom comes from many counselors. Most people who acquire great wisdom start from listening and learning. Often their most valuable learning comes from their own experiences, good or bad, over time.

If you don’t care about what religion you hear a person is, why bring it up at all, as the very beginning of an argument. If you are provided facts to check regarding an issue, why not do so?

Dave criticizes Beck for talking about immigration as if it is new to his viewers. It must be new to a lot of people, or else it wouldn’t be such a long-growing ongoing and growingly complicated issue.

If you only want to hear what you already know and agree with, you have just proved why we have allowed so many crises to build almost beyond reversing.

  7. Laiglesforum,
For ANYONE to say, “There may have been as many as 10,000.” in referencing the Rally in DC on September 12 is assanine! You obviously were NOT there and are as misinformed as many other people. There were as many as 2,000,000 there, depending on who you want to believe. The best estimates are from the National Park Service. But that aside, what is your point here? That we should trust Glenn Book, er excuse me, Beck? For him, it is all about selling a book and making money! Tell us, where will he be when it is proven that his 100 year plan fails to take this country back to it’s founding principles? How about a refund on that book when it is proven NOTHING more than a ridiculous ploy to distract people and, oh yeah, MAKE GLENN BOOK MORE MONEY!?? The truth is, it makes NO difference where Obama’s birth certificate says he was born. IN order to be President of the US, one MUST be a NATURAL-BORN citizen. The definition of natural-born is that BOTH parents MUST be U.S. citizens. Now Obama’s father was NEVER a U.S. citizen, according to Obama’s OWN book as well as the records, that is PROOF enough that he is NOT qualified to be the President. Why is this such a problem to understand? HE should be frogmarched out of the White House in handcuffs, along with Nancy Pelosi, and the other “elitists” that have perpetuated the worst fruad in our history. Then they should be held until a trial, only to be sentenced and then the sentence for treason, murder, and the RICO act, just to start with, should be carried out immediately!
And as far as you saying what America needs, who do you think you are? What America NEEDS right now is to return to the founding principles that INCLUDES a belief in, and worship of, God. Restoring Almighty God to his rightful position in our country and repenting for our sins as a nation will be a first step to our fredoms being restored. Then we will be able to restore our constitution and remove this cancer. But this cancer, like any other cancer, if not removed, will soon kill our government and do EXACTLY what it has been designed to do,and that is to destroy this great nation, subjugate the population, and make us all more easily controlled by the few elitists that believe they have some destiny that involves them being superior enough to dominate us. What it is, is time for the majority of people to understand what is at stake here, and that is OUR WAY OF LIFE. And if we understand that, we MUST rise up and prevent this travesty of justice from being brought to fruition!

  8. Sharon, if he really believes the Birthers to be right, then he would certainly broadcast that on his radio show. I can’t see him lying on both shows about his position on Zero’s eligibility…but I’ve heard your arguement before from others and you may very well be right.

  9. I still watch and like Glen Beck. He has given out more information on the corrupt going on’s in Washington then any other show host and that includes O’reilly. While I kne some of it, I did not know it all. Lou Dobbs ranted every night on illegals and then when he left CNN, all of a sudden he is for amnesty! Talk about “I was against it before I was for it” people. He betrayed 95% of his viewers and as far as listening to him or “voting” for him if he runs for any office, that I will not do! I will continue to watch Glen Beck and listen intently to what he has to say. He made no effort to hide his past and openly talked about it, many times. And as far as religion goes, I don’t care what religion he is and nor should you. It makes no difference to me as long as he is speaking the truth. And I don’t know of one politician I agree 100% with, do you?

Now I hear people say, well he is very wealty. So what? So are the millionaire politicians who made their money off the backs of the American people and underhanded and back room deals, the good old boy system. I resent those people who live in luxury while trying to reduce “the masses” to poverty! I don’t resent Glen Beck who made his money by himself and his work effort. That is what capitalism is all about. People I do resent are the Al Gores who plan on raping the United States for personal gain. The global warming hoax is just that, a plan to get a one world government. All this started in the UN and it took off from there. There is no man made global warming, it’s all a giant lie and I feel sorry for the people who believe this propaganda fed every day to the people. The taxes and expense this will place on the United States will be disasterous and this country will cease to exhist as the United States of America.

So don’t watch Glenn if you don’t want to, but stop treating him like the liberal loons do and try to bring him down. I for one, respect Glen Beck and what he is trying to do, save this country before it is too late.

  10. It may well be that Glenn cannot talk about the obama eligibility issue on either the tv or radio for the very reason that Fox would fire him or the FCC would pull his radio license or severely limit or restrict him as to what topics he is allowed to pursue…In either case, our media is being threatened and the the american people are being decimated by false propaganda from an embattled and shackled media which should have freedom of the press, but which is now being understood by millions, simply controlled by the obama propaganda machine of chicago politics…Sad to say, but our fourth branch of government created to protect us from government abuses has now been effectively silenced!!!

  11. Good article, Don. I’ve been researching soviet infiltration of America and you’ve given me some good leads. It would appear that this is another case where education has let us down sorely as there is a great deal of information about it, if only we were presented with it. For example, read through this testimony with former communist Manning Johnson by the House Committee on Un-American Activities. It is a long read but well worth it.

As far as Beck and the Birthers go, when I hear Beck going off on them I can’t help but think, “Glen, just who do you think your audience is?.” His biggest supporters have been ‘birthers.’

I think there is a general hesitancy among people to say or believe something that will make other people think they are a radical nut. Given how much crazy stuff is out there, this may be a useful intellectual defense mechanism. It would be weird in the case of Beck who has already made a name for himself as a nut by the left but I still wouldn’t underestimate this tendency. There may also be some real concern about his job. Or, he may have been told by the big Fox people, “This far and no further…”

None of that is an excuse for his diatribe on Birthers. I think, however, that we have to cut some slack- especially we who doubt Obama’s constitutional legitimacy. Let’s face it, anyone who takes Beck’s stuff and runs with it and really explores it is very likely going to end up being a Birther… probably the biggest hurdle to believing it could be true is believing that any man could be so bold and audacious to knowingly pursue the highest position in the land while knowing he does so illegally. This is a hard hurdle to get over until you’ve studied history, especially American history of the last century, and seen with your own eyes just how audacious radical liberal leftists have been… often in broad daylight.

We can’t expect a generation that we all agree has been drugged for decades into an ignorant stupor by the intentional efforts of radicals to awaken and become informed over night or even over a year. This just isn’t realistic. And Beck, as I reckon it, has only been awake for 2-4 years.

We must be prepared to interact with people who are in various stages of the process and are not yet where the mature are. If we are too hard on them, we will throw up an obstacle to their progress. Remember the hesitancy to be counted a right-wing nut! We are not up against an argument so much as a mood. At the same time, we will do well to remember that we ourselves still have more to learn on this matter…

  12. Joan, I’m sorry you have such a low opinion of me considering we’ve never met or conversed. It sounds to me as though you can’t stand criticism of those you idolize or otherwise cherish. In the political world, EVERYONE’S fair game! But I’ve seen people–otherwise intelligent commentors–defend Rush, Beck, Hannity, Savage, whomever simply because they are like Gods, above reproach. I only brought up what I’ve heard about Beck from others who know better than I personal issues because, like Tiger Woods’ mysogeny or Rush and his drug dependency, character matters! I’m happy that Beck has opened some people’s eyes to things they weren’t aware of, but like Sharon, I’m way ahead of Beck on news stories and I turned my cable service off the day after the 2008 Election. But I’ve seen youtubes of select shows of his since then so I’m no unaware of what he’s saying.

I have no reason to “divert attention” from what Beck says. I have no problem with people watching or listening to him, or both his radio and tv shows. I do have a problem with people who are “mesmerized” by those they idolize. Idolitry is a dangerous thing. Been there, done that. I was a Joe Montana worshiper. I also worshiped Johnny Carson and boy, whatta stupid fool I was to do that! It’s like alcoholism, because it blinds you to the truth. Remember the Jim Jones Massacre? That’s what happens when idolitry is taken to the nth degree. That’s why I don’t fall into that trap anymore. I have people I admire and follow, but not without arguing with them, testing them. It’s scary sometimes but we can’t allow ourselves to become sheeple. And that’s what idolizing Celebs or others we “worship” does. Maybe I should set up an “anti-9/12″ group! I hadn’t thought of that…

I like to know what’s behind the person b.s.ing me, what’s behind the lousy jokes and phony act. If it’s alcoholism or perhaps the fact that he beats his wife or galfriend, I’d like to know if I can. I’m a researcher, have been for many years. I’m not satisfied with the phoniness of television. There’s a lot of stuff we don’t see that is kept from us. But the important point is…I have a mind of my own, a high level of intelligence and I don’t need a third rate comedian to tell me about “charity, reverence, humility, thrift, sincerity, hard work, gratitude, personal responsibility, moderation, hope, that America is good, that I believe in God, that I must always try to be more honest than I was today or yesterday,” etc., etc. It sounds like something from one of the encounter groups I attended as a college course in the late 60s! Sorry, Joan, but I don’t need Glenn Beck to tell me about personal responsibility! Nor do I need him to get me to march or be politically active. Maybe Beck is speaking/catering for “couch potatoes” who for whatever reason don’t have minds of their own and need some tv personality to speak for them. THAT is scary! But in the final analysis, he doesn’t speak for me.

I brought up Beck’s possibly being a Mormon because where a person is religiously tells us something about that person. Or is Beck sacrosanct, off limits to criticism?

If I want to be “lectured”, I know just the person to do it. He’s forgotten more about religion and history than I’ll ever know. He’s the leader of the traditionalist conservative movement and he can sure put me in my place, and has. I’ll let you figure out “who” I’m referring to. And please don’t guess that it’s the late William F. Buckley! BTW, Don can do that too when he wants to. lol

  13. Kris, you say you don’t care what religion Beck is. He happens to be a member of the Mormon “church” which is NOT a recognized branch of Orthadox Christianity.

Jesus said, “I am the Truth, the Way, and the Life. No ne comes to the father except through me.” John 14:6

Since Beck has rejected Jesus (Mormons don’t believe faith in Jesus alone is required for eternal salvation), and will spend eternity separated from God (in hell) unless he accepts Jesus as Lord and leaves the Mormon Cult, how can he be a purveyor of truth apart from THE “truth, the way and the life” Jesus Himself?

While some of what Glen says is true, as a Christian I don’t look to him for truth in general since, according to the Bible, he does not possess the Holy spirit of Truth, but the spirit of the anti-Messiah (anti-Christ)…the spirit of lies.

And he is telling a huge lie every time he claims Obama’s eligibility is not an issue.

  14. Hi all,
I didn’t realize there would be such disparate viewpoints among people I love and admire as mentors. At least 3 of those who responded above fit that category.
Dave, you have provided me with good information and are a mentor. I ask you about politicians in state races etc and you always know. I don’t know how you keep up.
What you say shows you really just don’t like Beck, but if I were to criticize Beck I would stick to things I know. I would not mention that he might be beating his wife. He has never been caught at that. I would not mention that he is rich or used to be a drunk. Conservatives think being rich is ok, no problem and most believe in redemption as a keystone of Christianity, the thing that sets it off most of all against all other religions and ideologies.
I would say though, that Beck has raised my concerns by ignoring one very important aspect of Leftism: the way it aims to undermine the importance of family by teaching that homosexuality makes people special and even gifted and that while practicing homosexuals can do no harm (despite the disproportionate way they spread disease), Christians are perverted and mean.
Glenn went up against Van Jones and took him out at a time when I was afraid Glenn would lose his sponsors. It was a tense moment but Glenn faced him down in an act of heroism.
But then, another czar, Kevin Jennings, was found to have urged an underaged student of his not to report the criminal actions of a homosexual man who assaulted him. That makes Kevin Jennings a criminal in the eyes of millions of people, myself included. Not only that, Jennings has been behind at least one school program that explicitly recommends to students that they try all sorts of sexual activity–something that good parents, for example, tell their kids to put off until marriage and until their studies are finished.
Suddenly, Glenn went mute. He had NOTHING to say about Jennings. He could have applied the skills and talent he used against Van Jones to bring Jennings down.
    But he said essentially nothing.
I had noticed before that whenever a person or group identified with homosexual agenda attracted attention for their misdeeds or mis-statements, Beck was always silent. He never opposed same-sex marriage or any sexual perversion.
THIS shortcoming is the one I am concerned about.

  15. Mack,
I just wanted to let you know. I had said “there might have been 10,000″ who showed up if Glenn hadn’t advertised it every day in all his shows. I just made up the number and kept it deliberately on the low side. It is not my best guess as to how many Glenn brought in, but I think PLENTY!

  16. Proverbs 16:18 ¶ Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Pr 16:19 ¶ Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

2 Chroncicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

I wonder what would happen if all the christians, conservatives, patriots, tea partiers across America would rally on 14 July 2010, where ever they may be with a large rally in Washington DC where they would focus everything on humbling themselves, praying to seek the face of God, turning from the wicked ways and repenting of their sins reprenting, humbling themselves, praying, seeking the face of God, turning from their wicked ways and repenting of their sins?

God promises that if we all would do that, he would hear our prayers in Heaven, He will forgive our sins and He will heal our land!

Our land needs healing. Looking to men to heal the woes of our land accomplishes nothing. The healing of our land must come from God, the original founder of our Constitutional Republic.

  17. Regardless how Glenn feels about Birthers or Obamas’ eligibility, he performs a valuable service to Conservatives by exposing the liberal agenda. No one is perfect. Thanks Glenn for your service to public.

  18. For me, it boils down to whether Beck wants to tell a lie, tell the truth or merely tell part of the truth. This latter category can be intentional or unintentional through ignorance.

When someone holds back part of the truth while knowing more that could either alter the whole commentary or place different emphasis on it or part of it, then this is deception. There could be reasons with Beck as the conjecture that it stems from 40% of FOX News being owned by Saudis or by the higher percentage being owned by Murdoch and there come the excuses. I can also see that if he is careful, he can present more and more truth in other areas but if he “blows it” by disclosing some huge but yet somewhat unprovable idea, then he also loses his venue and allows someone else to climb on that platform that could be even worse than Beck.

I know that Beck can present a lot that is of vital interest to many viewers. My chief complaint is that where I must rule out most of the other MSM “news” offerings, I thought that FOX News could be totally accepted and believed. Now, however, I find I must sift through much of it and select those things that are believable without the spin that is often attributed to the MSM. I had hoped that FOX News was above the need for this but find that it is not. Furthermore, I have found that Beck is not the only one that must be “sifted.” Hannity must also be viewed with some care and O’Reilly with much more care if one is to get the most benefit from them.

For me, the fact that Beck is a Mormon is important the same as it was important for me to know that Romney was a Mormon. This is not the forum to discuss the intricacies of religion as to whether any particular one is or not more Biblical. However, it is of some importance to know whether a candidate or, in this case, a news commentator is going to be able to independent enough to be his own man/woman without allowing his religion to flavor his viewpoints and decisions. Keep in mind, though, that the Founding Fathers were indeed Godly men but, as witnessed by the fact that they were of various religious preferences, they were more on the side of God than clinging to a particular religion.

Most of the commentaries here are very interesting and every one has added something of value to the discussion and I am grateful for it.

  19. Hello NoCrud,
I am with you on this. Romney is a Mormon and what bothers me is how his religion (if it is one) affects his politics. Now, whether a Mormon can be a Mormon at home and “church” and an American in public office remains to be seen. But it is apparent that Romney and Beck both seem oblivious to sexual sin, and to the harm due to the various sexual agendas (starting with same-sex marriage and proceeding to there to polyamory and pedophilia — which I believe are next on the agenda), and one of my sources has convinced me that the Mormonism is the reason for this. That sounds incongruous to anyone who knows how the Mormon “church” stood against same-sex “marriage” in California. There is a lot to be said, and there are people better equipped to say it than I. Gregg, one of the above posters, already gave some insight.
BTW, I put “church” in quotes ref to Mormonism because the word church (Gr. ekklisia) was intended to apply to Christianity. To use it for a non-Christian institution is blasphemy.

  20. You are right, “Laiglesforum” — ecclesia means a called out group of people and refers historically and traditionally to Christians.

There are many groups that call themselves a church. This gets into the derivation of the word ecclesia to some degree but also it means that anyone can call himself by some self-perceived notion and be whatever he/she wants to be in today’s society but this does not mean it is right. For example, we can have a man who is 50% White and some calculate somewhere between 6.25 and 12% Black and, because he prefers to say he is Black, he is accepted as Black by the Blacks. Never a “half-White,” just a Black.

This falls back into the realm of PC, though. The theme of sexual harassment is that what someone “perceives” as harassment is legally harassment regardless of intention. There are other parameters such as being advised that it is harassment before making it so but many people want to be this or that and assume the role without real objection.

I do know that opposition to some systems of belief, such as actual, historical accounts, are often bought up and destroyed or, should it be necessary, those records or books are taken in a loan and peremptorily “lost.” I know because it has happened to me…

However, this is not the forum to discuss these things in detail. Unless, of course, it becomes the topic of an essay and it can then be discussed by forum participants but I advise that guns and knives be checked at the door.

  21. I don’t know who any of you people are, but I received a link to this page in my email.

Glen Beck is an establishment shill.
    He cannot be trusted.
If he does not come out and clearly state that private banking is the problem, then that only proves he is a shill.
Glen Beck just recently called for new taxes, further proving he is an establishment shill.

Read Ellen Brown’s book “The Web of Debt” to open your eyes to the real problem.

  22. WE ARE SLAVES TO THE BANKERS

Private bankers control our entire society by controlling our monetary system. They’ve done so for hundreds of years. With the help of their accomplices in government, they have the authority to literally create money out of thin air.

In this country, the Federal Reserve “loans” money to the US government that must then be paid back with interest. The same thing goes on in almost every other country in the world; a central bank creates and controls the nation’s money. We are nothing more than slaves who do real labor in the real world so that they may feed off of us like ticks feed off of a dog. The governments they own collect taxes from us, (just like thugs are sent out by the mafia to shake down the business owners of a community), so that they may maintain their lavish lifestyles. In fact, the only reason we pay any taxes at all is because the government must maintain a steady stream of money flowing from us to the bankers.

If PRIVATE banking was eliminated, and instead controlled PUBLICLY by the government, we would no longer have to pay ANY taxes for ANYTHING! Instead, government could use the profits of banking to fund itself!

The private bankers are nothing more than an international financial mafia who own everything through a legalized combination of counterfeiting, loan-sharking and extortion. The family who sits atop this all-encompassing, global crime organization is the Rothschilds, who first came to power in the 1700s. They are based in Europe but they own many different estates throughout the world. They keep a low profile on the world stage and in many ways are like the Corleones in The Godfather.

They keep the general public “dumbed-down” by controlling the media and the education system, and almost every politician is bought and paid for. But more and more people are waking up through the power of the internet. There has been an information explosion in the past ten years and the truth is starting to spread like a brushfire that they are frantically trying to put out.

Hollywood movies that depict metaphorically how we are controlled by the bankers:
    “John Carpenter’s: They Live!” 1988
    “The Matrix” 1999

A documentary to watch on Google Video that details the rise of the private bankers:
    “The Money Masters” 1996

YouTube videos of comedians covering the subject:
“Federal Reserve Exposed By Richard Belzer”
“George Carlin – The Owners of This Country”

    Books on the subject:
“Secrets of the Federal Reserve” – Eustace Mullins
“The Web of Debt” – Ellen Brown

Websites that cover these topics extensively with daily internet radio programs and articles:
    infowars.com – Alex Jones – gcnlive.com
    rense.com – Jeff Rense – renseradio.com

The solution is to take back our economic sovereignty and personal liberty by taking back our monetary system. We must do this on the state level through our respective state legislatures. The states have to stand up to Washington and their corporate controllers on Wall St and in the City of London.

  23. Obama is not eligible to be president by his own admission. He admits that his father was a British subject and that alone disqualifies him no matter where he was born. Read the Constitution – it’s that simple. This has been affirmed in other Supreme Court cases on point. That is the plain fact.

Nevertheless, facts do not matter. It will not matter if everyone in the country becomes aware of the facts. The people were utterly defeated by the Federal Government in the so-called Civil War, which was in reality the Federal Government’s war against the States, and the people. There has been no doubt who has been in charge since then. Study your history.

There is only one way to get our Republic back, which is how we got it in the first place, by fighting for it. Not by voting, begging or tea partying. But by shooting the bastards that currently lord over us. If you are not willing to do that, you will not get your country back, period, because they are certainly willing to shoot you. Try not paying your taxes to the bankers and see who is more than willing to use force against you, or violate any one of their unconstitutional laws and see which end of the gun you are on.

Facts are not relevant if you are not willing to fight for your, or your children’s, freedom and country. It takes Faith to fight such a battle; Faith like our Founding Fathers. Sadly, America is bankrupt not only economically, but in Faith as well.

So keep on talking. It means nothing and the Government does not fear the truth because they know no one is willing to stand for it.

I love you Don, but where are you?

    Panama?
