Made in China: Wholesale Persecution“Chinese dissidents and activists like Hu Jia don’t pick their human rights issues like items from a salad bar.” — IRD Director of Religious Liberty Programs Faith J.H. McDonnell

WASHINGTON, April 8 /Christian Newswire/ — Human rights activists in London, Paris and San Francisco are aggressively protesting the human rights violations of host nation China as the Olympic torch progresses across the world towards the games in Beijing.

Political figures like Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi have echoed media coverage featuring the Tibetan cause, but there has been a de-emphasis or failure to cover Chinese oppression against Christians and the forced abortion and sterilization of thousands of women in eastern China. According to the testimonies recorded by the Chinese human rights activist Chen Guangcheng, forced abortion takes place up until the eighth month of pregnancy and frequently includes killing babies who are born during the process. Chen was arrested for exposing the forced abortions and sterilizations and has been serving a four year, three month sentence.

On April 3, 2008, Chinese activist Hu Jia was sentenced to prison for 3 ½ years. Mainstream media focused on his role as an AIDS and environmental activist, but photos of Hu provide a bigger picture of the young Buddhist blogger. A Washington Post photo of Hu Jia shows him wearing a t-shirt with a photo of Chen, whose oppression he chronicled as it was taking place.

IRD Director of Religious Liberty Programs Faith J.H. McDonnell commented,

“Chinese activists and dissidents realize that we must confront China’s Communist government on behalf of all who are being repressed and persecuted, even when Western protestors only see China’s injustice towards a few choice groups.

“The forced abortion and sterilization of Chinese women, many who are arrested and brutalized by China’s family planning bureau, is not a popular topic for liberal human rights activists. Perhaps it hits too close to home.

“Chinese dissidents and activists like Hu Jia don’t pick their human rights issues like items from a salad bar – they fight for the freedom of all. It does not do justice to the cause of freedom when Americans and other Westerners vocally and vigorously speak out only about China’s human rights violations in Tibet, but not the persecution of Christians.”

ILLEGAL ALIEN arrested for firing AK-47

by Eugene Scott and Elias C. Arnold – Apr. 6, 2008 06:26 PM
 The Arizona Republic

Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies arrested an illegal immigrant after he was suspected of firing an AK-47 while roaming the streets of East Mesa, officials said.

Abraham Duarte, 20, was first seen in an unincorporated area east of Apache Trail and Ellsworth Road, said Deputy Doug Matteson, a Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

Officers believe the man fired the gun near residential structures, though his shots were thought to be random, Matteson said.

SWAT team members emptied two-thirds of an apartment complex just south of 95th Street and Apache Trail in search of the suspect.

Officers found Duarte in the building and took him into custody, officials said.

He was arrested three times in 2007 in Maricopa County.

Officials found information at the scene of arrest that led them to an apartment complex near Guadalupe and Ellsworth roads. They found an AK-47 on the roof of that apartment.

“He will be screened for his immigration status and he is facing multiple felony charges,” Matteson said.
“And they went up over the breadth of the earth, and encompassed the camp of the saints, and the beloved city”

TUCSON residents fight back, burn Mexican flags

by Roy Warden

Pass this along to everyone: On April 10, 2006, 15 of us here in Tucson entered Armory Park in opposition to 15,000 who had gathered to demand their “rights” and demand America surrender it’s sovereignty to the Mexican government. We burned 2 Mexican Flags and told them:

“Not here, Not Tomorrow, Not Ever. America is the Stronghold, and here in Pima County we Americans will make our stand!”

We were cursed, spat upon, assaulted with curses, frozen water bottles, ball bearings, etc. We, 15 in the face of 15, 000. In 2007 I was precluded by Order of Municipal Court Judge Hays from participating in a rally in Armory Park where 4,500 had gathered to support Open Border Policy. The Order has since been rescinded as unconstitutional.

On May 01, 2008 I will enter Armory Park with a small group, erect a modest roped barrier, burn a half dozen Mexican Flags and again proclaim  ”Not here, Not Tomorrow, Not Ever. America is the Stronghold, and here in Pima County we Americans will make our stand!” And when some jack-ass left wing reporter asks me why I burn the Mexican Flag, I will tell them: “Porque se puede!”

We will be armed. We will have armed supporters mingling in the crowds. The first time some pendejo pulls a gun, exposes an AK47, or otherwise draws down on us, in our mutual self defense we will pull our weapons and open fire.

I’m not afraid of these punks. Instead, I’ve made them afraid of me.

Quit asking God to save you. He gave us America and the legal power to defend ourselves. Get Off Your Freaking Knees!  Our Founders prayed, and then rolled up their sleeves and “Got it on!”  Have the backbone to do the same!
